About the Artist

a dog guardian and loyal servant

I am a graphic designer living in the Pacific Northwest. I moved to the US from Bangkok, Thailand in 1998. When I was 15, my dad gave me a Minolta Maxxum 7000, my first SLR camera. Since then, I acquired a few other SLR and Digital SLR cameras and I have been constantly snapping pictures of my family, my friends, and everything else in between.

In September 2001, after the dot-com bubble burst, I lost my job, along with the other 150 people in the company, as a result of the closure. It took me a while to find a job. A couple of months after that, I found an interesting job listing at a local board game company, the one that has a purple brain logo. Ring any bells? You Craniacs?

I couldn't stop thinking about what it would be like working for this creative, fun and crazy company where everyone had a chance to shine. I wanted to create a character that rhymes with "Creative Cat". And that was how "Diligent Dog" was born, on the bus in summer of 2002. Long story short, I applied for a job and had three interviews and was one of the last two applicants. Needless to say, I lost a battle. But I was determined that one day "Diligent Dog" would be back.

Fast forward to summer 2007, I took an oil painting class and found my new passion. I took another class in spring 2008. This time I was concentrated on pet portraits. I showed these paintings to my family and friends. Not long after that, I started getting requests to paint their dogs, cats, chickens, donkeys, and a turtle.

I paint with the finest materials and work hard to make each pet portrait a unique work of art. I try to capture the personality and character of each individual pet. My portraits are created from photos with my personal touch. Each piece is highly detailed with rich color and texture.

If you would like to commission me for a portrait of your pets, contact me at any time!

Thanks!
